Rev. Jackson on the Passing of Former President of The Republic of The Gambia, His Excellency Alhaji Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara
I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of His Excellency Alhaji Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara, former president of The Republic of The Gambia.
Sir Dawda was a beloved son of Africa and a true champion of human rights, peace, and unity during his tenure as president and as one of the leaders in the Organization of African Unity – now African Union.
The Gambia has lost a humble servant, a man who dedicated his entire life to the prosperity of all Gambians. He was a gift to The Gambia and to all of humanity. His legacy will continue live on.
He was a global citizen and will be sorely missed.
During this sad and difficult moment in the lives of all those affected by the passing of Sir Dawda, we must always remember that Allah/God is our refuge and strength.
I join all Gambian, family and friends of Sir Dawda in mourning the loss of a great and beloved man. My prayers go out to his family and his nation. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
KEEP HOPE ALIVE!
